Production Fees for APA Animal Consultants

Daily rate for each APA Consultant to oversee animal welfare of Animal Actors on set are as follows:

Union and Non-Union / Domestic and International*

  • Feature Films are “$35/hr with time and a half after 8, double time after 10 or a flat fee of $475 for a 12 hour day (hours 13-15 are time and a half).
  • Daily Hourly rate for each APA consultant is $30 per hour and $.35 per mile. (After 20 Miles)
  • Jobs 4 hours or less, a 1 hour portal fee will be added.
  • Jobs exceeding 4 hours or more no portal required.

APA Office Administration (one time fee per job)*

  • Commercials: Starting at $100 (dependent on number of days APA Consultant required on set)
  • TV: Starting at $100 (per episode fee dependent on number of days APA Consultant required on set)
  • Film: Based on the number of days APA Consultant required

APA Administration service fees include:*

Notarized Disclaimer Letter for production and clients as applicable upon request*, support from animal consultant experts for pre-production through post-production, advising production on safety issues, script reading, documentation of all animal action, care, oversight of animals well being, documentation of any permits as required by animals employed on location, review of scripts, one liners, shot lists, story boards, days out of days and all related production materials.

*Notarized Disclaimer available upon request, this may take up to 5 additional business days and require a small fee of $12.00 (Twelve Dollars).

When Applicable:*

  • Travel Days to and from any location for production is $32 per hour and $.35 per mile (After 20 Miles) when applicable not to exceed 8 hours billing maximum.
  • Idle Days when there are no Animal Actors on set is $32 per hour not to exceed 8 hour billing maximum.
  • Prep Days for each APA Animal Consultant is $32 per hour and $.35 per mile (After 20 Miles) when applicable not to exceed 8 hours billing maximum.
  • Travel Expenses (airfare, ground transportation, hotel, per diem and related costs) to be covered by production.
  • Holidays on location are to be paid as 8 hour days.
